We all spent a great deal of time with John. Everyone who knew him regarded him as a quality individual, great athlete and a caring individual. Always there to lend a hand or make you laugh.

John and I traveled cross country two summers in a row back in the seventies.

The first trip was with Dan Azeredo, his wife at the time, Sandy, my mother and two brothers. We had a great time and it was on this trip that I introduced John to Hawai'i and all of its incredible beauty.

John fell in love with Hawai'i immediately. He loved it so much we planned our next trip the first few days of our visit.

It was after our return from our second trip to Hawai'i that John started to become ill. For the next five years he battled a disease that no doctor could explain or diagnose. I still don't know what caused his passing.

When his kidneys shut down, his brother, Jimmy, lost thirty pounds in a matter of weeks to be able to donate a kidney to John.

John was in and out of the hospitals and it was in one of those hospitals, he met and married the nurse who was always at his side.
Sadly, John passed away on my birthday in 1983. I miss him tremendously. Goodbye my brother...
