Pete, it seems like your Navy experiences let us know that you were a little bit too independent! I'm truly not an organizational person at all...it took several times to figure that out.
To everyone else....Hooray! I have had so much fun living your memories with you! That's what I felt like this was all about, & I'm glad that one of our very intelligent classmates figured out how we can just keep on talking this way...
I have to reread the previous messages, since I've been remiss for a few days, & I know I'll want to say more.
Love you guys!

I remember asking my parents if we (my sister & I) could camp out on Big Peanut Island w/ a couple of other girls (were they Barb & Pam? or who?)...the reason was that a bunch of guys...(were they Dave, Mike, John?..I don't remember, but it was very exciting!)...We were allowed...we saw the guys...& did anything happen?
In a way, that is such a neat memory! Everyone wants something to happen, but we all still had boundaries that hadn't been crossed, yet.

WOW---I haven't been in here in so long I hope I remember how to use it.Looks like the forum was pretty busy this weekend.Sherry I got your email.I just read the weekend mail, fantastic memories ya'll have. Can't wait till I've got a little time to add some and maybe tweek a few.One thing,Danny was talking about the waterfalls and the beautiful "BUBBLE SHOW"that flowed all the way accross West Lake Park Rd., now known as Northlake Blvd. Those bubbles we're compliments of Publix Supermarket in Riviera Beach. I'll fess up and there were 2 maybe 3 other accomplices, one who frequents this site, should he care to come clean. They were two 5 gallon buckets of pink lotion lux and a variety of other damaged detergents. I'll give you a hint his initials are the same as mine.

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY

Does anyone know if Mrs Jaramillo, the spanish teacher, is still alive? Would love to go see her when I'm down there if she is.

Also Mr Robinson, the algebra teacher from Howell Watkins.

Donna, It was the Witch's Castle in Palm Beach.  All my nieces and nephews have been driven by there and i’ve scared the pants off of each one.  There were (and still are) bars - like jail cell bars across an opening in the rocks along the roadway.  Of course, I would tell all the “fine little kiddies” that this was the dungeon the witch kept all the kids in.  Funny, how each of my nieces and nephews  - all now adults- take their children over to the Witche’s Castle and scare the pants off their gullible little victims!  😜

I have not read about anyone remembering Blizzards and Burgers on 10th St in Lake Park...; oh was their food great!

Pete, you made me laugh so hard with your writing about Mrs McCullough (BITCH) and her paddlings being worse than the nuns!  Hysterical!!!  I was raised Catholic and the nuns made me so nervous.  I went to St Francis Church, but did not go to school there.

The Royal Castle across from Dairy Belle— the best little burgers ever.  Then on Bayberry Drive in Lake Park (one block north of Silver Beach and two blocks west of US1)... The Dairy Belle Ice Cream truck would drive through  the blocks.  EVERY kid ran out to the truck and bought a “Dilly Bar” hoping to find the popsicle stick in the middle, which said “FREE DILLY BAR”...!  That was like the golden egg in Easter Egg Hunts!  Now, updating today.... Dilly Dilly” as to the Bud Light commercials on TV!  Can’t wait for the Super Bowl Bud Light Commercials surely to be shown!  “Dilly Dilly”!!!!  😂 Enough for now; I will be back!  Laurie

John, you mentioned 2 of my favorite teachers.  Unfortunately, they are both deceased.  Carmen died in 2016 and Dick in 2007.

I made my flight reservations for the Buzz!!!!  Laurie, I remember  Blizzards  and Burgers on 10th. Ate there all the time.  Best hot fudge sundaes. And who could forget Mrs McCullough (BITCH!) I was the receipient of that damn paddle myself!  She broke lots of them on kids.  The walk of shame from the big elementary building to her office down the street. Hope everyone can make the Buzz. This will be my first one.

Thanks for that information, Marti, though it was sad to hear that both have left us. Interestingly, among that group of favorite teachers of mine would be your mother. She was tough on me at times--once even sent me to the dean's office for not having shaved!--but I learned a lot in her algebra 2 class.

I hope things are well with you. Hope to see you at the 50th.

John

It's always sad to think of those who have passed on. Speaking of teachers, does anyone know what happened to Mr. Gardaii (sp), the art teacher. His son also went there, Mickey? Did they leave the area? I remember Dairy Belle. My sister and I would go there after school and got the benefit of the "mistakes" that couldn't be sold. Lou's subs were the best. After County Line Pizza, I'd have to say that Sportsman's Pizza on Military Trail near the airport was the best. Miss having the ocean in my backyard but don't miss the heat or the roaches. We don't have them in the north. But there is plenty of snow instead. Enjoy reading these posts and the memories.

Hi Everyone, Didn't realize I hadn't been on here in 9 years. They went by too fast here on the west coast.
There's a good possibility I and my wife will be attending the 50 year reunion. I know I've missed the last 49 and nothing can make up for that but hopefully I can get reaquainted with some old friends.
The picture is from our January visit to the Palm Beaches.

Hope to see y'all there!
